WEBSITE TERMS
Clear terms for using the ENBTA website
These Terms and Conditions explain the rules that apply when you access or use the East New Britain Tourism Authority website. They are intended to protect visitors, ENBTA and the tourism providers represented on the website.
Last updated: 7 September 2026
01 / About these Terms
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of this website, including its pages, maps, directories, listings, contact forms and other features (collectively, the “Website”).
In these Terms, “ENBTA”, “we”, “us” and “our” mean the East New Britain Tourism Authority, the provincial tourism authority for East New Britain Province, Papua New Guinea. “You” and “your” mean any person who accesses or uses the Website.
By using the Website, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you should stop using the Website.
02 / Purpose of the Website
The Website promotes East New Britain as a visitor destination and provides general information about places, accommodation, experiences, packages, operators, transport, events and travel planning.
Unless a page expressly states otherwise, the Website is an information and referral service. ENBTA is not a travel agent, booking platform, payment processor or party to a contract between you and an independent tourism provider.
03 / Tourism listings and information
ENBTA takes reasonable care when compiling and updating Website information. However, tourism services and local conditions can change, sometimes without notice. A listing does not guarantee that a provider is operating, available, licensed for every represented activity, suitable for your needs or able to deliver a service at a particular time.
You should confirm important information directly with the relevant provider before making plans. ENBTA may correct, update, suspend or remove content at any time.
Inclusion on the Website does not, by itself, amount to certification, accreditation, sponsorship or a guarantee by ENBTA unless this is expressly stated.
04 / Bookings and independent providers
Bookings, enquiries and transactions are made directly with the accommodation, operator or other provider identified in a listing. The provider is responsible for confirming availability, delivering the service and explaining its own booking, payment, cancellation, refund, age, health and participation requirements.
Any contract for a tourism product or service is between you and the provider. You should read the provider’s terms before committing funds or travel arrangements.
05 / Prices and availability
Prices displayed on the Website may be indicative, starting prices, historical information or information supplied by a provider. Unless expressly stated otherwise, prices are shown in Papua New Guinea kina (PGK) and may exclude transfers, meals, equipment, taxes, fees or other extras.
Prices and availability are not guaranteed until confirmed by the provider. Where information conflicts, the price and terms confirmed directly by the provider for your proposed booking will apply, subject to applicable law.
06 / Travel, safety and local conditions
Travel in East New Britain may involve road, sea, weather, volcanic, health, terrain and communications risks. Information on the Website is general and does not replace current advice from emergency services, government authorities, transport providers, qualified guides or health professionals.
You are responsible for assessing whether an activity is appropriate for you, following lawful instructions, obtaining suitable insurance and permits, carrying necessary medication and equipment, and checking current conditions before travel.
Access to customary land, villages, cultural sites and protected places may require local permission, a guide or payment of an access fee. Visitors must respect local customs, community instructions and restrictions on photography or recording.
07 / Maps, routes and location data
Maps, coordinates, routes, travel times and location descriptions are provided as planning aids only. They may be approximate, incomplete or affected by changes to roads, tracks, access rights and local conditions.
Do not rely on the Website as your only navigation or emergency resource. Confirm remote or unfamiliar journeys with a knowledgeable local provider or guide.
08 / External websites and services
The Website may link to provider websites, social media pages, booking services, maps and other third-party resources. ENBTA does not control those services and is not responsible for their availability, security, content, privacy practices or transactions.
A link is provided for convenience and does not automatically constitute endorsement. You access third-party services at your own discretion and under their terms.
09 / Intellectual property and cultural material
Unless otherwise stated, Website text, layout, graphics, branding and original media are owned by or licensed to ENBTA and are protected under applicable law. You may view and share links to public pages for personal, non-commercial travel planning.
You must not reproduce, sell, scrape, republish, alter or commercially exploit Website content without permission or another lawful basis.
Photographs, stories, designs, performances, names, traditional knowledge and other cultural material may also be subject to community, clan, custodian or creator rights. Publication on the Website does not grant permission to reuse that material outside its intended context.
10 / Acceptable use
You must not use the Website to break the law, mislead others, impersonate a person or organisation, interfere with the Website, introduce malicious code, attempt unauthorised access, harvest personal information, send spam or use automated systems in a way that places an unreasonable burden on the Website.
ENBTA may restrict access or take appropriate action where misuse threatens the Website, its users, tourism providers or the public.
11 / Enquiries, corrections and submitted material
You should provide accurate information when contacting ENBTA. Sending an enquiry does not create a booking, agency, employment, partnership or other contractual relationship.
If you voluntarily submit listing information, photographs, corrections or other material for possible publication, you confirm that you are authorised to provide it and that its use will not unlawfully infringe another person’s rights. ENBTA may verify, edit, decline or remove submitted material and is not required to publish it.
12 / Personal information and security
When you use a contact form or communicate with ENBTA, we may receive information such as your name, contact details and message. We may use it to respond, administer the Website, maintain records and carry out legitimate public tourism functions.
Internet communications cannot be guaranteed to be completely secure. Do not send passwords, payment-card details, medical records or other highly sensitive information through a general contact form.
Further information about personal information should be read together with ENBTA’s Privacy Policy when published.
13 / Website availability
ENBTA may change, suspend or withdraw all or part of the Website for maintenance, security, operational or public-interest reasons. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access or that every feature will always be available or error-free.
14 / Responsibility and limitation of liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies a right, remedy or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under the laws of Papua New Guinea.
Subject to that qualification, ENBTA is not responsible for loss caused by your reliance on information that you did not confirm, the acts or omissions of an independent provider, changes in travel conditions, a third-party website, or events outside ENBTA’s reasonable control.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ENBTA will not be liable for indirect, consequential or special loss arising from use of, or inability to use, the Website.
15 / Changes to these Terms
ENBTA may update these Terms as the Website, tourism services or applicable requirements change. The revised version will apply from the date shown at the top of this page. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
16 / Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Papua New Guinea. Any dispute relating to the Website or these Terms is subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Papua New Guinea that are competent to hear the matter.
Before commencing formal proceedings, you and ENBTA should, where appropriate, attempt to resolve the concern in good faith through direct communication.
